Delay in release of Energy Storage Tenders

The year 2019 has witnessed good start in Energy Storage tenders floated from Central & States i.e SECI, APTRANSCO, APDISCOMS and REIL, etc. Few of tenders are supposed to be India’s biggest capacities announced till date and these projects are supposed to support peak demand and high RE penetration issues of respective regions. However, this pace has been delayed in the month of April owing to different factors including political, technical issues and uncertainty from bidding authorities. SECI yet to release BESS tenders for 14 MW Solar With 42 MWH BESS Leh Kargil, 1200 MW ISTS-connected solar with 3600 MWh Storage, 300 MWhr BESS in the State of Andhra Pradesh announced in Feb/March’2019. RFP for these projects is expected to be released in May’2019.
