To encourage one on one dialogue between technology companies and key Indian stake holders, IESA hosted the 1st IESA Technology tour from 28thOctober to 3th November, 2012. The 1st IESA tour had participation from international delegates representing companies including Altairnano, Deeya Energy, DynaPower, eCoult / East Penn, Enerdel, Google.org and ZBB. These interactions were instrumental in showing the possibilities and advancements in technology landscape to Indian participants. Since the tour, IESA has continued the dialogue on current policies, barriers and opportunities with all concerned stakeholders such Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission, Forum of Regulators and India Smart Grid Forum.

IESA again brought together delegates from leading energy storage and emerging technologies companies such as Applied Material, Deeya Energy, S&C Electric Company, Urban Electric Power, United Technologies (UTC), BVES (German Energy Storage Alliance) and US India Business Council for the 2ndtour conducted during April 15th to April 20th.

The week long tour included various round table discussions with over 100 representatives from C&I customers, utilities, renewable developers, regulators, financial institutions and various trade organizations. The IESA delegates also participated in additional networking opportunities through relevant panel discussions conducted at 3 co-located conferences (EcoBuild in Mumbai, SmartElec in Vadodara and South Asian Cities Summit in New Delhi) during the week.


India Energy Storage Alliance was invited to demonstrate latest Energy Storage Solutions at Innovation Showcase Pavilion at Clean Energy Ministerial on 17th-18th April in New Delhi. Participants of the 2nd IESA Technical Tour joined the international experts to discuss their experiences and case studies at the CEM on 17th at New Delhi.


IESA delegates also were invited to join in special networking events organized by USIBC and FICCI in honor of US Energy Secretory, Dr. Stephen Chu. There was also a special dinner hosted by India Smart Grid Forum on 18th.

     


IESA also released the latest India Market Assessment for Energy Storage with outlook till 2020. The report identifies key sectors that will drive the growth of energy storage industry in India during next 5-7 years and also provides the readers information on the current regulatory framework and key stakeholders for each target segment.
