According to a report from TOI, the company is looking to ramp up its monthly electric vehicle production capacity from 200 units to 5,000 units, over the next two years. The company now makes batteries that allow cars to run between 100 and 140 kilometres on a single charge. While M&M imports battery cells, it assembles the battery packs in India at its facility in Bengaluru that can do 400-500 units per month. Mahindra is also working on a 32-seater electric bus which is expected to be introduced within next two years.
