British car manufacturer Jaguar has stated that it will not introduce the I-Pace electric SUV in India anytime soon. The reason behind this move from Jaguar is that the company feels that the country is not yet ready for a full-fledged electric car. The company also stated that the country lacks basic infrastructure for EVs. There were many other factors which forced the company to come to this decision. The other factors include incentives offered by the government for electric vehicles, lack of charging stations and not service manufacturers and suppliers. The design of the Jaguar I-Pace SUV is efficient due to its aerodynamic body. The SUV will be equipped with a 500kWh lithium-ion battery. The electric motor of the SUV can generate a power output of 400bhp and 700Nm of peak torque. The electric SUV can sprint from 0-100km/h in around four seconds. The Jaguar I-Pace electric SUV will deliver a range of 500km which makes it an economical preposition. The company claims that the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in just 90 minutes. Jaguar stated that the I-Pace electric SUV would enter production by late-2017. The electric vehicle will be launched in the global market by the second half of 2018.
