India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) and Government of Telangana Join Hands to Foster Sustainable Energy Growth in the State
- Partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of sustainable energy solutions while attracting investments and promoting economic growth in the State.
New Delhi; 11.08.2023: In a significant development towards sustainable energy adoption, the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) and the Government of Telangana have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing of the MoU marks the establishment of a strategic partnership aimed at promoting the energy storage sector and knowledge transfer in advanced battery manufacturing processes, electric mobility, green hydrogen, and microgrid technologies.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the deployment of sustainable energy solutions while attracting investments and promoting economic growth in the State. The partnership also seeks to provide a platform for industry stakeholders to explore investment opportunities and foster the growth of the energy storage sector.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Government of Telangana in our mission to drive sustainable energy adoption," said Debi Prasad Dash, Executive Director of IESA. "Through this collaboration, we aim to facilitate knowledge exchange, implement impactful energy storage policies, and support the growth of Telangana's electronics and semiconductor industry, contributing to the state's economic development." Taking the partnership to the next stage, IESA is hosting its 3rd annual event India Battery Manufacturing & Supply Chain Summit at Hyderabad on 13-14th December 2023.
Government of Telangana expressed its commitment to providing conducive policy support, supporting ecosystem, enabling infrastructure, and competitive incentives to attract both domestic and foreign investments. Furthermore, the collaboration will prioritize sustainable practices and green technologies, aligning with global environmental goals.

"Our joint efforts will foster an environment conducive to economic growth, job creation, and environmental conservation."
IESA will actively contribute to knowledge transfer initiatives, capacity-building programs, and research endeavours that will further enhance the deployment of energy storage technologies in Telangana. By encouraging collaboration among professionals and technical experts from their institutions, IESA aims to drive innovation and manufacturing capabilities, consequently generating new job opportunities in the State.
This partnership will play a vital role in developing the Electric Vehicle (EV) and Battery Energy Storage System (ESS) sectors in Telangana. By identifying potential opportunities and advocating for advancements in Advanced Battery Manufacturing, EV, and ESS Ecosystem, the Government of Telangana aims to position the State as a leader in sustainable energy solutions.
The partnership sets the stage for a dynamic collaboration that will positively impact the region's energy landscape, establishing Telangana as a frontrunner in the sustainable energy transition.
