2nd IESA-ICAT EV Conclave
The infrastructure development of Electrical Vehicles (EVs) has become the need of the hour even though being at a nascent stage. Global companies are expressing immense interest in this space. There is an increased interest in deploying electric vehicles to address the issues of National Energy Security, vehicular pollution, and growth of domestic manufacturing. In 2013, India adopted the FAME India Scheme (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles in India) for EV manufacturing in India and also has a target of 6-7 Million Electric Vehicles on road by 2020 as a part of NEMMP (National Electric Mobility Mission Plan). Global and Indian EV companies alike have been showing enormous promise and have been able to garner the interest of a variety of investors and policymakers.
In this regard, IESA and ICAT are jointly organizing two days EV conclave on 17th & 18th May 2018 which will address EV policy, battery technology, charging infrastructure and future EV roadmap for India. It also covers two focused workshops on Lead Acid and Li-Ion and an informative battery lab visit to study battery testing infrastructure and how it is being used to ensure quality and safety of vehicles. The workshop will cover Lead Acid battery operation & maintenance for e-rickshaws and electric 2 wheelers, which could extend the battery life and improvement in battery health. Li-Ion Battery Workshop will cover the suitable technology selection, technology parameters (life cycle, efficiency and DoD etc.), power electronics requirement and role of BMS for the electric vehicle. Both the workshops will also on practical demonstrations.
With more than 350 participants expected this year, the conclave will address EV policy, battery technology, emerging business model, charging infrastructure and future EV roadmap for India.
