IESA webinar on High inventory management of lead acid battery during low sales period (Safety and O&M Perspective)
Industrial & automotive battery dealers, wholesalers, service centers & transit warehouses carry a month or two’s stock of car, inverter, UPS, solar & other batteries for resale or distribution. During economic slowdown or complete lockdown as at present, the battery stocks may stay in the warehouse for long periods of 4 - 6 months.
In 4 to 6 months, batteries will get discharged and some may even get sulfated, causing early failure, warranty claims & unnecessary financial loss.
For the OEM dealers of cars, CVs, two/three-wheelers and battery-powered electric rickshaws & electric scooters, the vehicle will be alright even after 6 months but the battery will be discharged & in extreme cases, a shortened life
While waiting for the lockdown to end and the sales to restart, there are a few actions that can be taken, to keep the batteries in full health. This webinar will discuss measures to maintain battery health effectively.* The webinar fees collected will be donated to PM CARES fund
